Community Readiness

Lesson 4: Developing an Action Plan

Setting Goals & Objectives

There are multiple approaches to increasing readiness, and setting goals that work in the context of your local community will require some strategizing. For example, you may decide to focus action planning on the dimension with the lowest score. Or, perhaps, a higher-scoring dimension seems more relevant to your capacity to address the issue in an effective manner.

You can use the following worksheet, or something similar, to develop 2-3 goals to accomplish within the next 3-5 years. Try not to get stuck on details. Remember that a goal is a statement of general purpose and direction.
