Lesson 3: Transcribing, Analyzing, Coding, and Scoring Interviews
Next Steps
Once interviews are transcribed, coded, and scored, take some time to highlight the dimensions that are lagging or leading. This will help focus on strategies more effectively and identify gaps and strengths.
When looking at data, it is also important to contextualize and interpret this within the cultural, geographic, and political realities of the specific community. Facilitate small group discussion with your team and engage with others involved in the process to share insights, surprises, and implications of findings.
Construct a narrative or short summary that links the scores with qualitative evidence and/or quantitative data. This will be important when presenting findings to the community to foster ownership and further engagement.
Stay curious and refrain from judgment! A non-judgmental approach will help you look at the data with a learning mindset. And remember that low scores are a starting point, not a deficit!
